BercioThe next nap, estimated

Log your baby's day in a tap: sleep, breastfeeds, bottles, diapers. Bercio estimates the next nap. At night, two phones become a baby monitor: live video and sound, and an alert when your baby cries or moves.

The baby log

Sleep, feeds and diapers, logged in a tap, and the next nap estimated.

  • The next nap

From your baby's age and their rhythm over the last two weeks, Bercio estimates when they will be tired again, the rest of the day and bedtime.

  • Accuracy on show

Bercio replays your own log to measure how many of its estimates came within 15 minutes, and shows you.

  • Sleep in a tap

One button when your baby falls asleep, the same one when they wake up: nap or night, Bercio guesses. A nap that runs short brings the next one forward.

  • Breastfeeds, bottles, solids

Breastfeeds timed side by side, with the last side used; bottles of breast milk or formula, in ml or fl oz; solids.

  • Diapers

Wet, dirty or both, in one tap, with “Undo” for a slip. Any entry can be corrected afterwards.

  • The day at a glance

A 24-hour timeline, the last 7 days with their averages, several children, and a summary to copy for the paediatrician.

The baby log in Bercio: awake for 1 h 31 min, next nap at 12:25.

The baby monitor: how does it work?

For the night, the same app on two phones: one in Baby Mode, the other in Parent Mode.

  1. 1 / 3

    One phone in the nursery

Open Bercio in Baby Mode on a phone placed more than a metre from the crib, camera facing your baby, plugged in.

  2. 2 / 3

    Pair your phone

On yours, choose Parent Mode, then enter the 6-digit code or scan the QR code shown on the baby device. Check that both screens show the same verification code, then tap “Allow” on the baby device.

  3. 3 / 3

    Keep watch from anywhere

Live video and sound, over Wi-Fi or mobile data, and an alert as soon as your baby cries, moves or makes noise.

An old phone can serve as the baby device: Android 7 or iOS 15 is all it takes.

A baby monitor for calm nights

Detection runs on the baby device, even offline.

  • Crying recognised

A sound recognition model tells crying from babbling and laughter. “Baby is crying!” is never mistaken for a mere noise.

  • Movement and noise

Draw the crib area: lasting movement alerts you, a startle does not. The room's background noise is learned to avoid false alarms.

  • Talk to your baby

Hold “Talk”: your voice comes out of the baby device's speaker, like a walkie-talkie.

  • Soothing sounds

Rain, waves, fire, white noise, a lullaby or a heartbeat, started from your phone, with a sleep timer that fades the sound out gently.

  • Night journal

Crying, movement, noise and outages, night by night, over the last 14 nights. A summary to copy when you talk to your paediatrician.

  • Several rooms

Up to 4 baby devices followed from the same phone, one tab per room. Several parents can watch at the same time.

  • Snapshots

Capture your sleeping baby, then share the photo or save it to your gallery.

  • Screen off on Android

The parent device keeps watch with the screen off and warns you if the link drops or the baby device's battery runs low.

In the nursery, the screen stays dark and “Black screen” turns it off at once, so it never lights up the room.

What happens in the nursery stays between your phones

The baby monitor's video and sound go straight from one phone to the other, encrypted, never recorded.

  • Nothing without your approval: a new phone sees and hears nothing until you allow it on the baby device, after comparing the code shown on both screens.
  • End-to-end encrypted between the devices you paired: even when a relay is needed, it can neither see nor hear.
  • Analysed on the baby device: only crying, noise or movement scores reach your phone, never the audio.
  • Kept at home: night journal, settings and photos stay on your phones.

Bercio is funded by Google AdMob ads, which never show on the monitoring screen or on the baby device: monitoring never depends on an ad.

A helper, not a medical device

Nap estimates are guides drawn from your baby's age and rhythm, not medical advice: signs of tiredness come first. Bercio's baby monitor does not monitor breathing or heart rate and does not prevent sudden infant death. An alert can be missed or delayed (network, battery, notifications): the app never replaces adult supervision or safe sleep guidelines.

Before each night

  • Baby device more than a metre from the crib, plugged in, cable out of reach.
  • “Test alerts” in the settings, to check that your phone rings.
  • A night light: in complete darkness, a phone cannot see movement.
  • On Android, turn off battery optimisation for Bercio.

Coming soon to Google Play and the App Store
